Core Activity
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the IM&T solution development & deployment plan. The post holder will subsequently maintain the plan as the contract matures.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager is responsible for management of all IM&T contractors to ensure successful deployment of the IM&T solution.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager will identify on-shore solutions for the delivery of services and goods to the Projects to ensure value for money from the IM&T solution.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager will act as the interface between the UK based Qatar IM&T team and local In-Country teams as deployed.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager will implement a process for identification & management of issues to prevent arising’s that will jeopardize the delivery of the solution.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager will provide expert technical support to the Project and teams.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager will provide status reporting of activities from an In-Country perspective, where required.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager will manage the coordination of various SMEs in the installation, commissioning and operation of the IM&T solution.
- The Qatar Service Delivery Manager will implement continual improvement to ensure that the business needs continue to be adequately met by the IM&T solution.
Key Accountabilities
The Qatar Service Delivery Manager is accountable for effective stakeholder management, including:
- Regular formal reporting of the emerging IM&T proposals and deliverables to the Qatar IM&T Lead
- Effective communications amongst the SMT of the projects to ensure shared understanding of the status of and issues around the IM&T solution.
- Effective communications with the end customer to ensure they are briefed and bought in to the solution and its deployment plan.
The Qatar Service Delivery Manager is accountable for the following Project Management aspects:
- Effective reporting of the status of development / deployment and continuing service throughout mobilization, deployment and support phases
- Effective budget management for the IM&T aspects of the contract, ensuring best value for money is obtained from selection of UK or onshore goods and services.
- Ensure that deliverables are timely and accepted to BAE Systems’ satisfaction.
The Qatar Service Delivery Manager is accountable for solution implementation and Support in terms of:
- Management of the installation, commissioning and ongoing performance of all IT systems
- Provision of expert technical support to the Project Management and Procurement team during IM&T related 3rd party negotiations.
- Execution of all routine housekeeping tasks as required.
- Interfacing with the customer and reporting on status of the solution as required.
Requirements
- Strong Project Reporting skill and relevant experience in the co-ordination and facilitation of IM&T solution development and delivery
- A solid understanding of a broad range of IT Disciplines
- Significant experience of IT infrastructure and any impact
- A strong understanding of Air Sector processes, including the ELC and LCM Review processes
- Good awareness of Functional activities especially Project Management, Supply Chain, Engineering and Commercial across a Line of Business
- Understanding and experience of working the Middle Eastern culture
- A strong understanding of Air Sector processes, including the ELC and LCM Review processes
- Good awareness of Functional activities especially Project Management, Supply Chain, Engineering and Commercial across a Line of Business
- Understanding and experience of working the Middle Eastern culture.
- Communications skills will be needed to translate IM&T concepts and options in plain business language to better inform decision making
- Confident with managing complex data and producing management information
- Appreciation of Project Management basics, managing to time cost and quality
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to self-motivate to deliver results often in challenging timescales
- Regular interface with Business and Functional Teams across MAI
- Should ideally have had experience with working with other cultures and a multi-national Customer and supplier base.
