About the job

To achieve success in this role you will need to:

  • Contribute to the development of QACC overall supply and logistics strategy.
  • Establish purchasing budgets and plans in full respect of QR Group policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and manage the development of QACC supply and logistics strategy to enable the delivery of revenue contribution to overall bottom line profit.
  • Monitor and manage the forecasting utilising the ERP Planning system in order to maintain stock control ensuring product availability.
  • Monitor the storage activities and inventory levels by conducting and reviewing audits and checks to ensure minimal stocks are held, wasta e is minimised and service levels are met.
  • Liaise with Production and Operations to understand their current and anticipated demands for goods.
  • Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives. Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers and negotiate terms and conditions by means of company evaluation guidelines and in full respects of QR Group policies to ensure that the most suitable products or services are procured.


You should have Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience OR High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification (Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 9 years of job-related experience.

  • Experience with Risk/Asset Movements
  • Strong Demand Planning Background
  • Sales & Operations Planning experience
  • Experience in a multinational global organisation
  • Experience in negotiation with suppliers
  • Experience in Airline Catering/Large Food service catering/FMCG/Textile organization
  • Additionally, CIPS Qualification or equivalent purchasing / Commerce.

In addition, you will have the following job specific skills:

  • Fluent command of English and at least one other language
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to influence people and strong negotiations skills.
  • Purchaser for food line (Frozen — dry — fresh or liquids)
  • Numeracy and the ability to present data clearly and accurately.
  • People management skills
  • Contractual and Financial acumen.
  • Ability to foster teamwork amongst team members.
  • Demonstrative initiative and autonomy.
  • Be accountable for decisions taken and project delivery.
  • Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
