About The Role

In this role, you will be responsible to create design, repair, or check design and certification documents related to cabin interior changes and repairs for passenger convenience and safety, operational support and aesthetics requirements.

Other Key Responsibilities Are

  • Review the required design change / repair as requested by the customer (Qatar Airways Engineering / Technical Projects or any other department) and classify if the same falls within the privileges of Qatar Airways Design Organisation (QADO) to facilitate change/repair projects.
  • Classify a change or repair with the considerations of internal procedures, EASA Part 21 regulations and related supportive publications to support initial airworthiness and design organisation requirements.
  • Ensure that documents created for the design change / repair, are of an acceptable standard as per Qatar Airways Design Organisation Handbook and Procedures.
  • Liaise with design and certification engineers to assist in formulation of certification documentation and creation of design data to support initial airworthiness and design organisation requirements.
  • Ensure that design data comply with change / repair Project Work Scope and implement required Engineering Changes / Repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner to support initial airworthiness and design organisation requirements.
  • Review engineering data and drawings for accuracy before embodiment to maintain Qatar Airways Design Organisation technical and quality requirements.
  • Review and ensure that the Means of Compliance are appropriate and complete according to applicable airworthiness regulations, such as JAR/CS 25 (Compliance Verification function) to support initial airworthiness and design organisation requirements.
  • Liaise with Head of Office of Airworthiness to keep track of regulation changes, and organize training, update procedures, forms and processes in support of the Design Organisation.
  • Guide new employees to align them with team’s objectives and priorities and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with manager in leading projects involving multiple sections, internal and external, for Technical Department in achieving the Company requirements.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About You

Dynamic and competent candidate to join the Technical Department must possess the following:

  • Qualification of bachelor’s degree or equivalent is essential.
  • B.Sc. (Engineering) or B.Eng. degree in Aeronautical, Avionics, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or equivalent from recognized university.
  • Minimum 6+ years of job-related experience
  • Working experience as Design Engineer in a Design Organization.
  • Experience in formulating compliance documentation.
  • Technical and project management experience in complex cabin change Minor/STC projects.
  • Being trained on EASA Part 21 Regulations and CS 25 requirements.
  • Experience in multidiscipline projects (Cabin reconfiguration, Seat modification etc.)
  • Experience in preparing flammability test plans / reports.
