Job Overview:
The Senior Buyer is responsible for supporting strategic sourcing, negotiation, contract drafting and revision, procurement activities, and supplier management for to support indirect procurement activities (IT and other areas). This position will work closely with assigned department and provide contract life cycle management for commodities.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Market analysis, including research of potential Vendors and Suppliers.
- Contract revision, drafting and negotiation.
- Liaise with internal customers for new sourcing requirements.
- Responsible for preparing Request for Proposal in line with policies and procedures.
- Conduct the commercial evaluation of proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms & conditions of Agreements in line with policies & procedures (Master Services Agreements, License Agreements, Corporate Indirect Agreements, etc.).
- Make award recommendation, complete and obtain signature on all approval documentation.
- Negotiate cost reductions and savings with Suppliers and Vendors.
- Issue corresponding Purchase Orders.
- Be familiar and current in SCM Best Practices Maintain contracts and renew existing agreements & licenses that are expired or about to expire.
- Ensure that contractual requirements are met by Supplier/Vendor and required documents such as reports, insurance certificates, etc. as applicable are received in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and conduct periodic self-audits.
- Manage changes to the Agreement and Purchase Orders through proper Change Order process.
- Facilitate the invoice and payment process of the Agreements/POs.
- Ensure all documents are duly filed in the appropriate systems.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports, as required.
- Manage commercial close-out of Agreements.
- Make continuous improvement recommendations to relevant processes, procedures, policies and systems.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- 10+ years of purchasing experience preferable within an EPCI company.
- Strong knowledge and ability to draft, review and negotiate contractual terms and conditions.
- 10% travel required.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Previous experience procuring IT goods and services, and/or other indirect procurement experience preferred.
