Mission

▪ Ensure during execution of Offshore EPC projects the management of structural materials in terms of material requisition preparation, technical bid evaluation of vendor offers, management of quantities for construction

▪ Provide quantities and costs for structural materials to be purchased, fabricated and erected during bidding phase

Tasks

The Engineer executes the activities within their own area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements

Own Tasks Include

Bidding phase

▪ Prepare Material Take Off for material procurement cost estimate

▪ Prepare Material Take Off for fabrication activities estimate

▪ Estimate costs for structural material purchase

▪ Perform technical evaluation of vendor offers

▪ Prepare Technical Queries And Qualifications

▪ Estimate procurement services man-hours

▪ Support Project Team in the definition of most suitable purchasing strategies

▪ Support the definition of the most suitable project execution plan and schedule

▪ Perform detailed analysis of Client specifications highlighting potential criticalities and suggesting eventual alternatives

Execution Phase

▪ Take in charge project specifications for structural materials

▪ Set-up the material management system

▪ Prepare the Material Requisitions based on Tekla 3D Model and other Material Take Offs and accounting for material utilization and contingencies for scraps

▪ Perform technical evaluation of vendor offers

▪ Prepare Technical Queries and/or Deviation Requests for acceptance of alternative materials

▪ Manage material balances throughout the project development

▪ Support the Procurement Plan preparation and updating

▪ Support the constructability meetings

▪ Prepare Specification for non-structural items (e.g. pile grippers, grout seal, rubber diaphragms, etc.)

▪ Provide Fabrication Functions with all required information to allow tracking materials after delivery at Yard

▪ Evaluate and accept non-conformities issued by vendors

▪ Perform the long term Work Front Analyses checking if structural materials are delivered to yard in a timeframe consistent with the project fabrication plan
