JOB PURPOSE:

The job holder will be responsible for all aspects of programming and distributor liaison, planning and executing programme scheduling to ensure maximization of screen usage and film attendance whilst ensuring optimization of opportunity to buy concession items and smooth delivery of operational standards to deliver sales and service targets for the cinemas.

KEY DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute programme scheduling to ensure maximization of screen usage and film attendance whilst ensuring optimization of opportunity to buy concession items and smooth delivery of operational standards to deliver sales and service targets.
  • Be the main point of contact and liaison with distributors in particular and with the industry in general to ensure growth and development of the company’s position in the market.
  • Ensure fully aware of the local and international film and movie market and liaise with all regulatory and licensing authorities.
  • Responsible for training and development of all managers and staff under you.
  • Liaise with the Marketing/A&P staff in their preparation of Advertising and Marketing plans and ensure that programming provides full support. Plan and execute schedule to ensure all opportunities for hall rentals and special events are maximized.
  • Plan and manage film content including trailers, advertising filmlets, e-slides, walk in music and all aspects of presentation in liaison with distributors, projectionists and marketing. Also organize and manage all in house media presentation including plasmas and AV.
  • Manage key performance indicators especially film rental and occupancy.
  • Work closely with the programming and research team members on windowing, scheduling and aligning acquisitions with market needs and keeping abreast of latest developments in terms of programming in major networks in various countries.
  • Language Management – Oversee and coordinate the delivery of master and publicity material for all programmes.
  • Ensure film rentals charged by films distributors are kept within the company’s forecasted budget.
  • Forge good working relationships with film distributors to ensure supply of exclusive releases in addition to blockbuster movies as well as competitive film rental charges.
  • Liaising with cinemas’ projectors service provider in all technical aspects.
  • Any other duties as required by the Operations Director

PROFILE: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 10-12 years of work experience preferably in Film Industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Preferably Master’s Degree.
  • Strong IT Skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
  • Planning & Scheduling Skills.
  • Analytical & Numerical Skills.
  • Excellent Managerial & Organizational Skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal, Relationship & Negotiation Skills.
  • GCC Experience
