General Job Description:

Carrying out a set of specialized works, operations, and studies in accordance with regulations and procedures that require knowledge in the field of developing and operating the internal and external electronic network of the Ministry and its protection.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
2. Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
3. Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
4. Arranging scheduled upgrades for the key network components.
5. Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
6. Reporting network status to IT Management and other key stakeholders.
7. Implementing disaster recovery controls and procedures for the IT network.
8. Undertake capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.
9. Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to Ministry’s IT network and systems.
10. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
11. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
12. Perform the tasks with a slight degree of discretion in addressing the issues within the limits of the approved laws, regulations and plans, and the work is subjected to a close review by the direct manager or the occupants of higher positions.
13. Carry out some communications for exchanging some data and information.
14. Performs other similar tasks assigned to him.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, JUNOS, and IOS.
• Networking courses from globally recognized manufacturers (e.g.: CCIE, CCNP, etc.).

Experience:

• Minimum 5 Years of experience in the field of information technology, specifically in the infrastructure/network environment in engineering planning for networking (hardware and/or software), and for design, planning and implementation.
