About The Role

The role holder will be responsible for managing respective retail outlets in their area so as to ensure maximum sales, maximum profitability, and effective stock management to increase customer satisfaction and ensure continued business growth. The job holder will also be responsible for maintaining the desired visual merchandising, retail operations, customer service, replenishment, and recovery standards in his/her area in the store in all aspects.

About The Requirements

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provides inputs for store strategies and ensure all plans are executed to result in maximized sales, profitability and commercial performance of all retail outlets in the assigned Area
  • Drives each store commercial KPI’s (Conversion, UPT, AVB, Traffic) to maximize sales
  • Promotes awareness of local trading patterns, the trading environment and competitor activity
  • Maximize productivity in stores through effective deployment of resources; controls costs within budgetary guidelines (overtime, stock and consumables) through efficient store operations
  • Ensures promotions are implemented according to guidelines and that local/seasonal promotional opportunities are identified and maximized
  • Prepares reports on fast moving and best-selling stock items in preparation for buying sessions
  • Ensures maintenance and regular review of store operational standards leading to standardization of systems
  • Monitors inventory management systems within the area (stock availability, order management, back store management, stock consolidation and transfer); initiates timely action on slow moving and non-moving products
  • Ensures on time stock count and effective stock management (right product is available at the right time in all stores)
  • Monitors staffing levels in stores within the area to ensures resources are effectively deployed
  • Monitors store administration through periodic store visits and team meetings to maximize operational efficiency within the area
  • Ensures all the stores are in compliance with all employment and state laws, health and safety standards; maintains proper loss prevention standards as per GMG policies
  • Ensures all the stores portray the Businesses image in all aspects of personal presentation and adheres to the company dress code as laid out by the policy
  • Maintains best retail standards in all showrooms as per market positioning of the brand
  • Furnishes regular product feedback to the senior management and the brand/category management department
  • Supervises the visual merchandising function to ensure that they support the brand and intended theme
  • Trains, manages, develops and motivates staff to increase sales and improve efficiency
  • Executes new stores openings and re-fits to ensure timelines are met

People Management:

  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective implementation of the GMG’s performance management process
  • Develops talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to achieve the defined goals
  • Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the Business Unit/ Department by providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs and coaching the employees on the areas of improvement


  • A minimum of 5 – 7 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years in a similar supervisory role in retail operations
