Cargo Regional team as a Cargo Pricing Specialist in our office in Doha.

The Cargo Pricing Specialist coordinates and supports the implementation of pricing processes and policies, creates business rules in the pricing systems for cargo pricing requirements and provides input in development of pricing related tools. He/she steers regional pricing, quotations and sales towards achieving set pricing targets in terms of rate levels, materialization, process compliance and ancillary revenues. Also analyses pricing related data to produce reports and dashboard for commercial performance management and leadership visibility.

Some Of The Tasks Include

  • Set, review and approve rates at an O&D (origin-destination) level.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the regional pricing strategy to maximise short- and long-term commercial performance in line with the strategic objectives of the division.
  • Create and programme business rules in the pricing system. Test, implement and regularly review these rules to drive cargo pricing requirements.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment of the pricing strategy with the regional cargo management team, sales teams and HQ pricing management.
  • Advise the business on optimal pricing mixes in terms of weight breaks, rate types, O&Ds, products and customers.
  • Ensure rate homogeneity and consistency within the responsible region and set structures and processes to avoid cross border selling.
  • Provide inputs to the Pricing Process and Ancillary team for continuous improvement of processes to maximise pricing performance and manage workload. Responsible for coordination between all stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyse reports on QR performance in the region (yield, tonnage, revenue development) compared to market benchmark (IATA, CASS, and World ACD reports) through market intelligence tools and propose development actions where required.
  • Monitor pricing, allotments and free sales evolution to ensure they meet the revenue targets and flight optimisation
  • Ensure pricing related systems and reports are implemented.
  • Maintain reports and dashboards to inform the Regional Cargo Pricing Manager about regional pricing performance and proposes development actions where required.
  • Understand the market, economic, and competitive market conditions and provide guidance for appropriate decisions.
  • Define and align target and bottom rates for rate negotiations with customers.
  • Proposes continuous improvement initiatives of pricing related tools to improve efficiency in cargo pricing.
  • Ensure threshold pricing values (such as MPCs) for spot rates are in place and managed in the region for all relevant O-Ds and products.
  • Coordinates customer tenders (RFQs), validates and checks pricing levels with various defined stakeholders in accordance with the overall Pricing Strategy set. Participate in tender meetings with customers if required.
  • Support Regional Pricing Manager to Negotiate short, medium- and long-term pricing initiatives, consistent with the regional commercial targets and pricing objectives. Giving priority to greater global network benefit over regional benefit where needed.
  • Monitor and take action based on changes in expected trends using pricing controls.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of job-related experience within air cargo industry preferably on the commercial or revenue management part.
  • Air cargo pricing, sales or revenue management experience
  • Highly data and process driven.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Additional specialization in pricing, revenue management and/ or network optimization is a plus
