Job Description

• Familiarity with local requirements in relation to roads and traffic solutions in Qatar.
• Familiarity with the local Ministry of Transport traffic modelling requirements.
• Ability to conceive/review earthworks, roads and utilities solutions for the development of new areas within the Free Zones.
• Offer technical advice on buildability and value engineering solutions.
• Ability to write scope of works and Employer requirements technical documents for roads and utilities works.
• Review construction documents and highlight any design discrepancies from standards/best practice/systems suitability.
• Work with PMCM and CS consultants working for the clients on its projects, and manage their technical work input / deliverables.
• Work with Consultants from client’s investors to review earthworks, roads, drainage networks and water supply systems/solutions proposed.
• Familiarity with structural design of light and medium industrial buildings is an added plus.
• Ensure that the consultants and contractors coordinate with all concerned authorities departments and ensure that their requirements are adequately and satisfactorily incorporated.
• Participate where needed in authorities interfacing to facilitate process, suggest intermediate solutions.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Member of a professional body as a certified civil/structural engineer
• No less than 20 years of experience in design and construction roles, including at least 10 years in senior/managerial roles
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to build relationships with staff and contractors
• Analytical, methodical, systematic approach to responsibilities
• High level of electrical technical knowledge and application
• Data analysis and report writing skills
• Ability to engage in technical discussion and run meetings with engineers and contractors
• Familiar with international and Qatar Civil standards
