Qatar Airways is excited to be launching a new opportunity to join our HR Talent Development as a Senior Learning and Skills Specialist, reporting to the Manager of Learning and Skills Development.

As a Senior Learning and Skills Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in building agile, fit-for-purpose skills-based development and leadership and management frameworks. You will support the Manager’s Learning and Skills Development with necessary insights from the ground up, stakeholder feedback, and relevant market research.

The role will require you to build effective partnerships with HRBPs and business leaders to assess performance gaps and design, develop and deliver/facilitate relevant and appropriate talent development interventions. The role also supports Executive Education and Development.

Other Operational Duties Will Include

  • Managing effective partnerships with HRBPs to work collaboratively on divisional requirements for people skills, leadership and management of development initiatives/interventions.
  • Providing creation, delivery and improvement support for leadership and management development through verifiable, measurable and strengths-based interventions.
  • Conducting needs analyses to identify performance gaps and learning needs, creating relevant and modern learning content and providing review support.
  • Piloting and delivering/facilitating training interventions for e.g. HR enablement training, Mentoring and Coaching training, Talent, Management and Leadership programs (for both managers and employees)
  • Providing support in creating program governance, policies, processes and tools.
  • Assessment of the gaps in performance at an individual, team and departmental level through the use of behavioral and psychometric assessments or focus group facilitated workshops, surveys or through stakeholder conversations or any relevant methods.
  • Administering and providing feedback on psychometrics for talent acquisition, leadership development, team development, and personal development.
  • Identifying, define and measure appropriate KPIs for each skills, talent or performance development initiative to demonstrate ROI/ROE.
  • Supporting program/project owner in executing the strategy for the “Global Skills Framework”, impacting employees globally across Qatar Airways Group.
  • Liaising between different phases of talent journeys in order to carve a holistic developmental intervention to address the identified gaps and reduce duplication and inefficiencies.
  • Leveraging on existing digital platforms and employ the “Build-Buy-Borrow-Bridge” strategy while designing developmental interventions.
  • Handling coaching and development of ‘Learning and Skills Specialists’.
  • Utilizing front end Talent and Performance systems to monitor trends and KPIs as well as liaise regularly with Digital Learning team for design, development and delivery of developmental interventions

About You

A successful candidate should possess the following experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Excellent command of the English language – written and spoken.
  • Experience managing large-scale employee development interventions and people projects.
  • Experience and knowledge of leadership and management development.
  • Experienced in delivering different styles of in-person, virtual and blended facilitation for diverse audience groups.
  • Digital curriculum design experience.
  • Performance Consulting approach and skillset.
  • Ability to present information clearly to all audiences (From senior 1 to 1s to wider audiences).
  • Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Ability to train and develop subordinate skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork among team members.

  • Experience leading change initiatives.
  • Coaching and mentoring knowledge and expertise.
  • Excellent skills in leveraging learning technology, a sound understanding of digital design and digital boosters’ framework.
