About the job


The role is working with other software engineers to Analyze, Design, Develop, Deploy, Test and Support corporate applications and business services based on business needs, focusing on the IT Service Management (ITSM) area using both Jira Service Desk & Confluence Platforms.

Job Type: Contractual (12 months)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applies graphics designs, develop, modify, configure, customize, administrate, maintain JIRA Service Management and Confluence Platforms.
  • Developing, coding, installing, testing, debugging, and documenting applications/solutions using JIRA Service Management and Confluence Platforms.
  • Experience in JIRA Service Management Platform & client development techniques such as REST APIs.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and UX team members to manage the overall JIRA Service Management and Confluence Platforms.
  • Lead the change and release management by planning features and upgrades as well as collaborating to define technical standards and best practices.
  • Develop an implementation strategy based upon technical requirements in accordance with our Atlassian build standards for JIRA Service Management and Confluence Platforms
  • Use JIRA REST/JSON APIs integrations with experience in Postman
  • Experience in JavaJSP and Servlets
  • Develop and deploy custom plugins for JIRA Service Management as well as evaluate and install plugins from the Atlassian Marketplace
  • Deep knowledge & understanding of ScriptRunner: writing and debugging scripts
  • Proven ability to monitor and sustain JIRA platform health, performance and identify vulnerabilities
  • Develop integration between Al Jazeera applications/services: LDAPADFSExchange, etc.
  • Design and build JIRA Service Desk Projects, workflows including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, notification schemes required to support on-boarding and off-boarding activities.
  • Build and manage workflow automations using GroovyScripts, JIRA automations and other custom scripting languages and services required to support the new processes.
  • Document and manage all work within JIRA as stories and tasks.
  • Create technical documentation for all scripts and integration points for JIRA and JIRA Service Management.
  • Create security architecture that can support project level, issue type, issue and field level

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors in IT, Computer Science or related field
  • to 5 years of relevant experience in Atlassian software – JIRA Service Desk & Confluence.
  • Java/XML development skills.
  • JIRA Service Management and Confluence Developer Roles and Responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders.

  • Experience building custom workflows, configuring custom post-functions and conditions into workflows.
  • Experience modifying and building custom Permission Schemes, Notification Schemes, Screen Schemes, Custom Fields, and Field Configurations.
  • Experience in migration of data from external applications to JIRA & JSD.
  • Experience using JIRA to automate metric collection at the project level.
  • Create and configure new JIRA & JSD projects and maintain existing JIRA projects
  • Ability to listen to the needs of our internal clients, communicate clearly, and determine ideal configurations for a new development teams and projects.
  • Integrate Atlassian tools with other external services and systems
