About The Role

To exercise operational control and supervision of flights to ensure that all flight operations are conducted according to Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and Civil Aviation Regulation (QCAR). To act as a close link between the QR aircraft in-flight and delivering technical and operational support to IOC stakeholders within his scope of knowledge and skills to manage operational disruption. The role will act as a technical specialist providing specific support to IOC operational staff and respective stakeholders during operational events.

Job Responsibilities Include

• Ensure Qatar Airways Flight plans are calculated as per legal QCAA requirements, compliance with QR Operational Manuals.
• Ensure application of ETOPS Flight Planning strategy for appropriate ETOPS flight as per the Regulations.
• Prepare and file an approved ATC flight plan for each Qatar Airways flight and ensure that Flight Release, Computer Flight Plan and all briefing documents are provided to the operating crew based on the defined time for hub and outstations.
• Flight plans are optimized based on the cost, time, fuel and payload using the various fuel policies approved by QCAA.
• Support flight crew during the decision-making or troubleshooting processes during all phases of the flight.

About You

• Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification
• Minimum 7 years of job-related experience required in Flight Dispatch performing Flight Dispatch functions.

• Shall have completed a training course as per the syllabi provided in ICAO Doc.7192, part D-3 Flight Operations officer/Flight dispatcher; approved by a Regulatory Authority or a Regulatory Authority approved institute

Or

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of job-related experience required in Flight Dispatch, performing Flight Dispatch

Functions.

• Shall have completed a training course as per the syllabi provided in ICAO Doc.7192, part D-3 Flight Operations officer/Flight dispatcher; approved by a Regulatory Authority or a Regulatory Authority-approved institute.

Preferred

• Familiar with the Flight Planning Tool prevalent at the time of recruitment.
• Flight Watch/Monitoring Experience.
• Experience in dispatching A320/A300/A330/A340/B777/B787.
• Complete understanding of MNPS and Euro Control air traffic floor management.
• Experience in Lido Flight planning system.

Essential

Previous Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of EU-Ops / FAA regulations.
• Experience in Computerised Flight Planning systems.
• Complete understanding of ETOPS theory and regulations.

Preferred

• Knowledge of AUSOTS operations.
• Application of Overflight permission.
• Flight Watch/Monitoring Experience.
