About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Primary Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Student Culture and well-being, to join our experienced team at GEMS Wellington School, Al Wukhair, Doha.

This is an exciting time in the school’s development. We require an ambitious, experienced and highly skilled leader to drive standards and progress, working as an integral part of the Secondary Leadership team.

The Assistant Headteacher for Student Culture, Ethos and well-being will be an integral member of the school’s extended Senior Leadership Team and will be expected to support the Vice Principal / Head of Primary in the management, leadership and continued development of the school through the duties and responsibilities detailed below. They will also be expected to undertake a reduced teaching commitment (Max 40%), following all the professional duties of a teacher, in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in relevant GEMS policies and under the reasonable direction of the Principal.

In fulfillment of all responsibilities and duties, the Assistant Headteacher will show a commitment to the ethos, aims and policies of the whole school, and strive to maintain these through personal conduct and effective relationships with colleagues, students and families.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

• A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.
• Experience as a Senior Leader with a successful track record of leading initiatives at the whole school level.
• Credibility as an outstanding practitioner and leader
• Experience in leading rapid, sustainable change is essential
