Senior Executive is responsible for the distribution of Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN) Channels in Africa territory/region via traditional, new technologies & other means & mediums of distribution to maximize Al Jazeera Media Network Channels presence, availability & reach, to generate revenue where possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize business & distribution opportunities for Al Jazeera channels/content through all means & mediums possible including (but not limited to) Cable, Satellite DTH, OTT, IPTV, Digital Terrestrial, TV Everywhere, FTTH, IoT, hotels, hotel chains, cruises, maritime vessels, educational institutions like universities, airports, hospitals, prisons, system integrators, National tourism boards & other commercial premises globally, while also assisting in identifying/sourcing Content Sales opportunities in respective regions
  • Promote distribution & business opportunities in assigned territories & regions towards attaining maximum reach & growth – Drive measures to reduce cost and generate revenue where possible.
  • Analyze & evaluate distribution deals by regions – every existing contract & evaluate its viability and means to enhance it for better-continued service relationships & maximize distribution in sync with Network’s objectives. Facilitate effective negotiation & renegotiation of agreements (while renewing) in securing the best terms.
  • Maintain, build rapport, and foster relationships with clients attending and addressing to their needs and rendering services as and when demanded. Establish plans and efforts to retain and maintain the existing current customer base for continued carriages of the channel.
  • Legalize Channel carriages by platforms, operators, hotels and system integrators by signing license agreements thus countering piracy
  • Work on annual operational, and business planning, creating objectives, targets and budget processes. Analyze & work with the Head of Distribution on each expenditure and annual budgeting requirement with the aim to reduce the cost to a minimum.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor from a recognized University preferably in Business Administration
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a related field preferably Media & Broadcast
  • Strong Communication skills, Negotiation skills, Presentation skills & Project and time management skills
