The General Manager Farm is a key role at Heenat Salma Farm with the primary responsibility for developing and managing the Agro Tourist resort at Heenat Salma in a manner that meets its business and educational goals. Providing leadership for all the business units which are Lodges, Restaurants, Wellness, Concept Store, Workshop and Agriculture staff and volunteers and ensuring the future growth and financial stability of the organization. Responsibilities include shaping the strategic direction of the Farm (in consultation with the board and other key stakeholders), line management, budget management, health & safety, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation and the oversight of new and existing projects to ensure their ongoing success.

The GM will oversee the growth, development, and sustainability of the farm which includes the following business verticals:

  1. Farming
  2. Lodges
  3. F&B outlets (now 1 but we intend to add 3 more)
  4. Concept store
  5. Events
  6. Wellness
  7. Creative residency (a place to cultivate the creative power of society. They also run creative & educational workshops)

The GM will have access to a shared services team that has the following:

  1. Finance
  2. Accounting
  3. Facility management
  4. Design & technical team (Engineering)
  5. Procurement
  6. HR
  7. ICT
  8. Legal
  9. Business development/marketing & sales
  10. Communications & PR


(Including Certifications and Training if required)

Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in business administration.


Minimum of four-year experience as a Resort General Manager.

Experience in all areas of Resort/Farm management, including sales and marketing.

Daily management of all areas of operations involving people & culture, food and beverage, budget management, rooms, housekeeping, maintenance and landscaping.

Full-service resort experience.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Superb knowledge of product and market.

Experience in independent & branded boutique properties.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs, Sheets or Slides.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
