About the job
Main Duties:
- Assigning manpower to conduct corrective and preventive maintenance tasks within the Rolling Stock and Depot Workshop Equipment departments
- Ensure the quality of work is done at its highest standard and inform or teach team members on the proper way of handling tasks and equipment
- Upholding the safety of the individuals in the workshop and ensuring safety is the number one priority within the workshop
- Review work orders, assign personnel and review completed work orders to ensure all information is recorded prior to closing the work order in the system (CORMAP/CMMS) properly
- Responsibility for the technically correct condition and the timely availability of the equipment
- Liaisons between the various maintenance and operation departments to manage scheduled maintenance tasks
- Chairing internal meetings within the maintenance section
- Ensure compatibility between team members and deal with complications and issues
- Responsible for appropriate actions in the event of incidents within the maintenance section
- Optimization of maintenance tasks as a result of ongoing analysis
- Checking inspection results and deciding on appropriate actions
- Analyzing the maintenance history for the related equipment and facilities
- Responsible for the reporting system to ensure the availability of sufficient and suitable spares/consumables for his area of supervision
- Responsible for the speedy availability of suitable manpower, adequate tools and materials in events of incidents
- Conduct physical tasks on-site, when needed.
Requirements:
- Has at least 3 years of experience in a supervisor role
- Has at least 5 years of hands-on rolling stock experience (some depot workshop equipment knowledge and experience preferred as well)
- Excellent communication skills, especially in English and can transmit information in a well and clear manner
- Good physical condition to perform physical tasks
- Must possess excellent CORMAP/CMMS skills to log and close work orders in an efficient and effective way
- Has leadership qualities and abilities to empower team members
- Understand engineering concepts well to advise others on best engineering practices
