About the role

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Warehouse Officer who is responsible for managing the warehouse team and provide leadership in fast-paced warehouse environment, development and evaluation to ensure efficient operation. Oversees and responsible for the day to day running a smooth operation, Planning and executing the growth of QDFC warehouse operations in line with the overall business strategy and implementing the use of the store and warehouse inventory management systems at designated areas. As a part of the Key Performance Indicators, the position will focus on Manpower Efficiency Development, delivered through strategic operational practice to help deliver an effective and customer focused solution

Operation

• Manage and review the day-to-day QDF Warehouse Operations, and deliveries to the Duty-Free Retail Sub Stores making sure all orders are sent in full and on time.
• Maintain the physical condition of warehouse ensuring that it is kept organised and in clean condition.
• Comply with local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by studying existing and new regulations, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed basis.
• Respond and prioritize daily requests and escalations effectively and in a timely fashion.
• Delivering a professional approach to work process flows, with Lean Methodology, that focuses on the reduction of costs, with increased throughput performance.
• Investigation, resolve and report on warehouse errors ensuring any potential risks and concerns are addressed to the management to ensure timely closure.
• People planning and assigning daily workloads in line with business requirements. Administration, training, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, resolving problems and disciplining staff within their respective teams.
• Management of both weekly and monthly operational reports that are tailored around 4 core areas: Customer Key performance Indicators, Manpower and Resources Planning Reporting, Stock Discrepancy Reporting, Management Reporting. Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and team.
• Conducts regular Warehouse/Bond/Sub Store inspections to ensure compliance standards are maintained.
• Prepare reports, analyse data, and make recommendations for improving operations and solving storage issues.
• Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
• Liaise with contractors working on the premises to ensure all requirements of QDF are delivered without affecting QDF business.
• Ensures compliance with Customs & Excise regulations.
• Coordinate monthly stock takes by category with the Inventory Control Team.
• Ensure all OH&S (occupational health and safety) standard operating procedures are adhered to at all times and risk assessments are carried out on a regular basis.
• Liaise with Procurement, Finance, HR and Retail for all operational and business requirements
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

About You

High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience or a Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience
