Head Coach – Girls’ Athletics Program

Role Overview
The Head Coach will lead the development and delivery of the Girls’ Athletics Program, creating a safe, positive, and high-performance environment for young female athletes.
The role combines technical coaching, athlete development, team leadership, competition planning, and program management. The Head Coach will help athletes improve performance while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and a lasting passion for sport.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coaching and Athlete Development
* Design and deliver structured athletics training programs appropriate to each athlete’s age, ability, and development stage.
* Coach athletes across relevant track and field disciplines, including running, jumping, and throwing events.
* Assess athletes’ abilities and create individual development plans.
* Monitor performance, attendance, fitness, and overall progression.
* Identify talented athletes and develop clear pathways for advanced training and competition.
* Promote confidence, discipline, resilience, teamwork, and positive sporting values.
* Ensure training remains engaging, inclusive, and suitable for girls of different experience levels.
2. Program Leadership
* Establish the overall coaching philosophy, technical direction, and seasonal plan for the program.
* Lead, supervise, and support assistant coaches and other technical staff.
* Assign coaching responsibilities and ensure consistency across all training groups.
* Plan weekly training schedules, athlete assessments, camps, and competitions.
* Ensure the program operates efficiently and meets its participation and performance objectives.
* Contribute to the future growth and development of the Girls’ Athletics Program.
3. Competition Management
* Prepare athletes physically and mentally for competitions.
* Select athletes for events based on readiness, performance, and development needs.
* Manage competition entries, event schedules, warm-ups, and athlete support.
* Attend competitions, training camps, and program activities as required.
* Review competition results and use performance data to improve future training plans.
4. Athlete Welfare and Safeguarding
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all athletes.
* Follow all safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety policies.
* Recognize and respond appropriately to injuries, health concerns, or welfare issues.
* Work closely with parents, guardians, medical professionals, and program management when necessary.
* Ensure professional boundaries and appropriate communication with athletes and families.
* Promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of every athlete.
5. Communication and Reporting
* Maintain regular and professional communication with athletes, parents, and management.
* Provide clear feedback regarding athlete progress, attendance, behavior, and development.
* Prepare periodic reports covering participation, performance, achievements, and areas for improvement.
* Conduct parent meetings and athlete reviews when required.
* Represent the program professionally at competitions, events, and community activities.
6. Operational Responsibilities
* Ensure training facilities and equipment are used safely and maintained appropriately.
* Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, performance, and competition records.
* Support athlete recruitment, trials, open days, and community engagement initiatives.
* Coordinate with administration, marketing, medical, and operations teams when required.
* Perform other duties related to the effective delivery of the athletics program.
Qualifications and Experience
* Recognized athletics or track and field coaching certification.
* Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Coaching, or a related field is preferred.
* Minimum of five years of relevant athletics coaching experience.
* Previous experience leading a girls’ or youth athletics program is strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated experience developing athletes for competitions.
* Strong understanding of youth athletic development, conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery.
* Valid First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain them before commencing the role.
* Safeguarding or child protection certification is preferred.
* English proficiency is required; Arabic is an advantage.
