Role Objective

The Investment Officer will assist in processing of all FEQ/PT, Bond/PT and QE transactions for the corresponding banks, in accordance with Doha Bank and regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will ensure prompt receipt of approvals, maintain records on transaction volume, and contribute towards MIS reporting on account of audit/procedural requirements. The job holder will ensure that all pending cases in relation to the corresponding are attended to, in a timely manner.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all operational activities as assigned by the Section Head – Treasury & Investment Operations, in compliance with local regulations, Doha Bank’s policies and approved T&I Operations policies and procedures.
  • Receive, review and record all documents approved by the respective internal departments/stakeholders with respect to FEQ/PT, Bond/PT and QE transactions, in line with the approval matrix, and as per the bank’s T&I Operations Policy and Procedure guidelines.
  • Ensure that the details pertaining to FEQ/PT, Bond/PT and QE transactions are promptly recorded in the respective pending cases file, to have an accurate tracking of the same.
  • Ensure that rights issue applications are obtained from the respective T&I employees prior to rights issue investments.
  • Review and process the rights issue applications received from the corresponding banks in a timely manner and as per the SLAs.
  • Liaise with the Investment dealers/ Stock Brokers to obtain confirmations through the approved communication modes on account of deals signed and executed.
  • Liaise with the respective employees, for rectification of discrepancies, if any found, with respect to approvals and/or deals.
  • Promptly keep system and hard copy of records related to all the investment proposals received, post accounting of transactions by the respective assigned staffs, furthering the execution.
  • Assist the Section Head in reviewing and investigating in liaison with the respective departments upon the cases which are pending on account of operational errors.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of current and up-to-date periodic/ ad-hoc reports on section activities, as directed by the Section Head – Treasury & Investment Operations, to meet regulatory/audit/compliance/procedural requirements.
  • Perform daily verification and reconciliation of outstanding items related to Doha Bank NOSTRO accounts against the manual/ system posting carried out by the respective employees.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

  • University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or any other related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Management any other related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • 05-08 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.
  • Experience in treasury and investment settlements operations in banking industry.
