About the Role
Responsible for developing medium and long-term strategic initiatives, working on day-to-day functions, projects and ad-hoc tasks across division. Manage analysis and data gathering requests, both internally within Corporate Planning (CP) and between departments. Within a complex data environment, ensure teams perform sound analytical processing of the data and comprehensive market research to support informed decision-making within the department. Formulate and deliver recommendations to the management and rest of the business (jointly), steer decision making and represent Corporate Planning in departmental cross-functional initiatives.
Your Key Accountabilities Include
General
- Mentor, steer and guide analysts, as well as interns and graduate developees and deliver studies on core CP related activities which support strategic projects, both internally and externally.
- Prepare business cases and project manage any related implementation, including leading special projects.
- Work closely and coordinate with other stakeholders/departments with supporting data, and/or ad-hoc material relating to QR interests.
- Supervise and/or provide recommendations to maximise or enhance profitability by optimising the allocation of capacity throughout the network e.g., new destinations, frequency changes and structural changes (aircraft, retime, tags, triangles etc.).
- Actively participate in search of new opportunities to expand the network in a profitable and balanced way, ensuring that all trade-offs are considered, and making use of data driven analytic processes to back up the recommendations that will be proposed to Senior Management.
Network Planning/Network Performance
- Manage the development of QR short and long-term route network with business cases that support the design, optimisation and expansion of the network.
- Monitor and review existing performance and identify ways to further enhance or improve operating results.
- Assist line manager in creation of Annual Budget Operating Plan and provide updates to the plan. Ensure that Corporate Planning developed QR short and long term plans are analysed and implemented efficiently while ensuring optimal aircraft utilization and passenger connectivity.
- Manage an assigned portfolio comprised by routes and projects, being the ultimate responsible and decision maker, make proposals to optimize their profitability and ultimately the overall profitability.
Network Planning Systems, Tools, Data and Reporting
- Manage use of industry Network Planning system and tool(s) which encompasses:
- Calibrating connection builder and market share model parameters (e.g., service type, elapsed time/time preference) to accurately reflect changing competitive landscape.
- Monitor and improve the accuracy of the models’ data inputs though continuous fine-tuning and through the application of the QSI/Logit Standard or another accuracy function as determined.
- Be part of the centralized team that represents the sing le source of data for department constantly to improve the reporting structure and the data utilisation.
Management & Leadership
- Establish the department or teams’ objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Regularly evaluate the department or teams’ objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Train and develop other employees to ensure succession planning is in place.

About You
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with a minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience in commercial aviation economics, strategic planning and business management.
- Project and contract management experience.
- Previous corporate planning experience.
- Able to prioritise appropriately and dynamically (80/20), to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Ability to manage and scrutinise detailed analysis thoroughly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide team confidently in the task of manipulating large volumes of data and key data mining.
- Strong command of English language – excellent communication skills.
- Strong leadership experience – able to manage diverse teams and cross-functional groups.
- Able to work in high-pressure and fast paced work environment.
- Ability to produce and deliver persuasive management-ready presentations in PowerPoint
