Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Controls / Commercial Intern to join our team! In this role, you will support the Project Controls and Commercial team in monitoring project costs, preparing financial reports, and maintaining cost records, gaining exposure to real-world project controls, cost management, and commercial practices.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly cost reports, financial summaries, and cost forecasts.
  • Supporting cost engineers in tracking project budgets, committed costs, actual expenditures, and variations.
  • Helping maintain cost databases, cash flow forecasts, and project cost registers.
  • Coordinating with project controls, planning, and site teams to collect cost-related data.
  • Ensuring cost reporting aligns with client requirements, contract terms, and industry practices.
  • Participating in meetings with internal stakeholders and, when required, clients and contractors.
  • Maintaining proper documentation and filing of all cost-related records.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, or Finance from a reputed university in Qatar.
  • Demonstrated interest in construction, consultancy, or project controls through coursework, student projects, or internships.
  • Basic understanding of construction projects and cost management principles.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office; knowledge of cost systems or planning tools is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across disciplines.
  • Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of senior cost professionals.
  • Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to meet deadlines.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Exposure to project controls, cost management, or commercial roles through internships, academic projects, or coursework.
  • Familiarity with cost control or project management software and tools.
  • Basic understanding of contracts, variations, and commercial terms in construction projects.
  • Experience working with large datasets, spreadsheets, or financial models for analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, with a proactive attitude and strong interest in a career in project controls, cost management, or commercial management.
