We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Technician to support end-to-end delivery, operation, and maintenance of passive network infrastructure across enterprise and event-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, termination, testing, and certification of UTP and fiber optic structured cabling
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure network availability
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare BOQs, material lists, and technical reports
  • Use testing tools (OTDR, power meter, Fluke) and document results for handover
  • Design and implement structured cabling overlays for temporary venues and events
  • Coordinate with active network teams for rack layout, patching, and labeling standards
  • Maintain accurate network drawings, patching matrices, and as-built documentation
  • Perform rack mounting, patching, cable dressing, and L1 remote hands support
  • Manage passive infrastructure inventory and ensure material readiness
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and site safety requirements

Documentation & Communication

  • Prepare site survey reports, test reports, and handover documentation
  • Maintain ticketing system updates and incident documentation
  • Communicate work status with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders
  • Provide material estimates and resource planning inputs

Problem Solving

  • Troubleshoot passive network issues including fiber faults and patching errors
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend long-term improvements
  • Support major incidents and high-impact operational events
  • Identify risks and propose infrastructure improvements

 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT infrastructure / network support experience
  • 3–5 years in a Senior Network Technician or similar role
  • Strong exposure to structured cabling, campus LAN, and data center environments
  • Experience handling field teams, subcontractors, and multiple work orders

Education & Certifications

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical, or related field (mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Networking certifications (CCNA / HCIA / Network+) highly desirable
  • Structured cabling certifications (BICSI, FOA CFOT, or vendor certifications) preferred

Technical Expertise

  • UTP/STP and fiber optic cabling (single & multi-core)
  • Patch panels, LIUs, and structured cabling systems
  • Rack layout and cabling design interpretation
  • Data center and campus network cabling environments
  • Testing and certification tools (OTDR, Fluke, power meter)
