About The Role: As the Manager of Procurement, your role is to manage and drive all procurement requirements in given product categories. To analyse and develop strong category strategies, agreeing cost savings targets interfacing with senior management and stakeholders. Managing supply to ensure best value for the company in line with its strategic, financial and operational requirements. Driving and motivating the team to achieve set goals and continuous monitoring and analysis to ensure further improvement in the category and department. Managing the assigned team, ensuring compliance and high professional standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities Strategic
- Provision of strategic analysis to clearly define comprehensive Category planning
- Develop cost saving plans for QR Group from budgeted amounts to reduce overall expenditure.
- Responsible for definition of supply strategy for relevant product categories
- Develop cross functional strategic planning with colleagues to ensure QR leverage all benefits possible.
- Review and input to department policies and processes to achieve best practice and continuous improvement.
Operational
- Ensure high service levels from Procurement team for QR Group including timelines, professionalism, communications and expectations.
- Setting and achieving Category KPIs, regularly assessing progress to keep delivery on track.
- Review and endorse all documents submitted by staff for compliance and best practice, complying with the company strategy.
- Responsible for the high-level negotiation with the key suppliers on costs, commercial and contractual terms and assisting reports on this where required, and tender is high value/risk to achieve increased value at reduced costs.
- Assists in developing the departmental budget. Manage quality control throughout project life cycle by maintaining delivery timelines, mitigating project risks, and act as a liaison with all project stakeholders to ensure effective change management.
- Provide comprehensive summaries and data for reporting activities on spend, timelines, current operational state.
- Run, review and action performance reports on assigned Categories to improve way of working, and deliverables.
- Challenge user timelines, specifications, sourcing methods, suppliers’ lists where appropriate to achieve the optimal outcome for QR, supporting Procurement Specialist in this also.
- Prioritise and assign workload and Tenders to the whole Category Team. Provide support to other Procurement Managers where required.
- Forward planning for procurement activities including full accountability for category planning in conjunction with stakeholder senior management.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
Qualifications About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience OR High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 9 years of job-related experience
- Strong category specific experience
- Fluent command of English language
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a very dynamic environment, under pressure, with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to influence, convince, and build effective business relationships across diverse groups of people.
- Service-oriented mindset, with a desire to ensure stakeholder satisfaction
- Excellent negotiation planning, management and execution skills
