Job Summary

The Proposal Engineering Trainee supports the Proposal / Tendering team in developing competitive technical and commercial proposals for projects and solutions. Under supervision, the trainee assists in engineering evaluations, cost estimation, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant submission of bids. This role is designed to build foundational skills in proposal engineering, project costing, and customer-focused solution development.

Your Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering Support

  • Assist in reviewing RFQs, RFPs, ITTs, and tender documents.
  • Support basic engineering calculations, layouts, and technical solution development under guidance.
  • Help prepare technical documentation including datasheets, compliance matrices, and method statements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to collect technical input.

Proposal & Costing Support

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, BOQs, and price breakdowns.
  • Support evaluation of vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Maintain cost databases, standard templates, and proposal libraries.
  • Help ensure proposals align with company standards and customer requirements.

Documentation & Submission

  • Support preparation of complete proposal packages (technical and commercial).
  • Assist in document formatting, version control, and compliance checks.
  • Ensure timely submission of proposals in coordination with the proposal lead.

Learning & Development

  • Learn proposal workflows, approval processes, and risk assessment methods.
  • Understand contract terms, commercial conditions, and pricing strategies.
  • Participate in lessons learned and post‑bid reviews.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or related field).
  • Fresh graduate or 0–1 year experience (internship experience is an advantage).
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and project lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, costing tools, or ERP systems is a plus.
