Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Group Risk, Safety & Security (GRS&S) team as a Safety – Technical Engineer Level 2 to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Safety – Technical Engineer Level 2, you will responsible to associate Technical – Safety Management and other team members in operation of company Safety Management Systems and ensure that constant maintenance standards applied to QTR and Customer aircraft are satisfied to the requirements to Parts 145, M and CAMO.

Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include:

  • Aircraft Technical Investigations within CAMO/MRO operations
  • Human Factor related investigations within CAMO/MRO operations
  • Technical Occurrence assessments within CAMO/MRO operations
  • Safety Management System functions within MRO/CAMO operations
  • Utilizing of Safety Risk management tools and Techniques operations
  • Involvement in the Risk Assessments/Management of Changes .
  • Health and Safety processes in CAMO/MRO
  • Support the review and follow up of mitigation actions submitted by various departments
  • Assist in updating current company technical procedures and manuals in to maintain compliance to acceptable levels
  • Support the preparation of Safety – Technical Notices and Safety Bulletins .
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications About you The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience within aviation safety or a related field, ideally within the aviation sector.
  • Degree (B. Eng., BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Aeronautical Engineering), or Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering .
  • Experience in Compliance & Safety/Quality assurance/maintenance/continued airworthiness environment.
  • Experience in incident/accident investigation and root cause analysis
  • 4+ years’ experience in aircraft technical investigations and human factor related investigations within CAMO/MRO.
  • Experience in Safety Management section of CAMO and MRO. Experience in Occupational Health and Safety will be considered as an additional skill.
  • Good understanding of Safety Risk Management Tools and Techniques.
  • Experience in Risk Assessments/Management of Changes.
  • Detailed knowledge of air legislation, particularly ICAO, EASA & FAA Regulations.
  • Detailed Knowledge of Compliance & Safety/Quality & Safety systems, continued airworthiness and aircraft maintenance fundamentals.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and industry software;
  • Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
