About Role You will be expected to provide a broad range of professional employee relations activities including but not limited to employee consulting, training, conflict resolution, compliant investigation, policy interpretation and the preparation and delivery of related summary reports and recommendations. You will also interact with all levels of leadership regarding legal compliance, discipline, terminations and negotiated separations. Last but not least, you will support the global industrial relations strategy and work with a great deal of independent discretion in decision making and execution of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and counsel to supervisors on employee issues as they relate to compliance with regulations and laws.
- Conduct interactive processes with employees to determine compliance and reasonable accommodations.
- Negotiate employment separations with separated employees to protect all parties from possible litigation in the future.
- Develop and conduct management training on harassment and discrimination, employment law, QR, performance reviews, discipline, terminations, ethics and personnel policies and regulations with the business line managers to ensure compliance.
- Foster and promote use of HR services with the relevant HR Business Partners to help deliver services to employees more effectively.
- Represent QR at personnel-related hearings, mediations, and depositions through Employee Relations or the relevant HR Business Partner in order to de-escalate any issues.
- Administer QR Employee Policy Handbook through the relevant HR Business Partner to set clear expectations for employees.
- Propose and make recommendations to the relevant stakeholders for changes and improvements to the QR Employee Policy Handbook to ensure consistent adherence.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance to protect against workplace conflict or complaints.
- Perform other department related duties related to the position as directed by Head of Department
Qualifications About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, humanities, Law or similar with minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
- Experience in investigating complex employment complaints and advising management on outcomes and recommendations.
- Experience in defining responsibility and planning for the department’s future needs.
- Excellent command of English language.
- Strong substantive knowledge of a full range of employment laws.
- Functional knowledge of jurisdictions and accompanying legislation, to ensure compliance and mitigate any potential risks.
- Ability to coach/advise employees and management through sensitive HR issues to resolve conflict and seek workable solutions; conduct individual and/or group facilitations to foster effective communication and healthy workplace relationships among employees and management.
- Investigate work-related or compliance issues and preparing summary reports, conclusions and recommendations.
- Sound understanding of best practices in fast changing areas.
Preferred:
- Professional qualification in HR/Employee Relations/Industrial Relations is a plus.
