Job Purpose:
We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Banquet Manager to join our team and support the successful execution of all banquet operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Banquet Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of banquet events
- Supervise banquet staff, ensuring high service standards are met at all times
- Manage the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring accuracy with function sheets
- Liaise with the kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor inventory of banquet supplies and place orders as needed
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally
- Assist with training and development of banquet team members
- Maintain proper records and assist in administrative tasks including scheduling and billing
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Knowledge of banquet software (e.g., Opera, or similar) is an advantage
