About The Role
In this role, you will supervise a team of Material Planners, responsible for planning and coordination of materials requirements in support of scheduled, non-scheduled and cabin standards maintenance activity for a specific aircraft type in the Qatar Airways Fleet, including initial provisioning projects for spares. You will also supervise planning materials requirements in support of modifications, reconfigurations and ad-hoc maintenance requirements and other special projects in support of the Department.
As part of your role, your additional responsibilities will include the following:
- Ensure all float review recommendations are supported by Poisson distribution float calculations or adequate justification (in case of tools).
- Proactively manage and resolve open IFE, Cabin Maintenance, and acceptable deferred defects to minimize backlog.
- Conduct regular inventory reviews to identify slow-moving, non-moving, obsolete, and surplus materials for potential sale, loan, or exchange with other airlines/companies.
- Ensure data integrity and optimize inventory levels by investigating and validating all possible interchangeable part numbers according to official manufacturer documentation.
- Supervise all planning activities related to Engineering orders, Engineering special work cards, component modification advice, and cabin surveys.
Qualifications
About you
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience, preferably in a Material Planning function within the airline/ MRO Technical or Supply Chain environment
- Ability to forecast rotables, repairable and consumables based on fleet utilization and maintenance events
- Good knowledge of inventory control and optimization
- Ability to interpret inventory related Technical Publications and Company Publications
- Knowledge of computerized inventory controlling system, with strong data analytical skills
- Strong relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent spoken and written English skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple, time- sensitive deliverables and competing priorities
- Ability to work extensively with cross- functional teams, in a faced- paced working environment
