About The Role

An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Group Health & Medical Services Department as Medical Supplies Operations Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive medical supply chain operations that supports the medical center clinical and supportive functions. This role includes managing the procurement, inventory, logistics and distribution of a wide range of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals and services. Responsible to ensure optimal sourcing, cost efficiency and regulatory compliance in all procurement activities, including the import of medical products.

Your Duties Would Include:

  • Develop and implement strategic medical supplies supply chain plans that align with the Medical Center’s diverse operational needs, ensuring service reliability, cost efficiency, and a robust, resilient supply chain.
  • Lead the development and management of the Medical Center’s annual supply chain budget, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Medical Centre department leads to ensure supply chain strategies meet each department’s specific requirements.
  • Promote sustainable supply practices to support Qatar Airways’ commitment to environmental responsibility.
  • Establish and manage relationships with local and international suppliers for pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, beauty products, equipment, and various wellness services.
  • Participate in QR Procurement meetings and support in securing the best terms for quality, compliance, cost, and timely delivery.
  • Ensure all vendors meet regulatory standards for quality and compliance; regularly assess performance to maintain a roster of approved, high-quality suppliers.
  • Analyze and report on supply spending patterns to support efficient budget planning across departments, including dispensary needs, radiology equipment, lab consumables, and contracted wellness services.
  • Identify and assess potential supply chain risks (e.g., disruptions in global supply, import/export delays) and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Create contingency plans to support critical supplies and essential services across departments, ensuring continuity in patient and staff care.
  • Collaborate with Qatar Airways’ risk management and quality assurance teams to align with broader organizational risk frameworks.
  • Implement Pharmacy and Drug control regulations, QR policies and best practices in inventory management for pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, beauty products, and specialty items for preventive health programs.
  • Develop protocols for the secure handling of hazardous and sensitive materials, including pharmaceuticals, sterile products, and specialty medical items, meeting regulatory standards.
  • Manage all logistics related to the import and export of medical products, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and beauty products, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
  • Coordinate with QR logistics to streamline import/export processes and ensure timely delivery of critical supplies. Oversee local and international transportation logistics, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods.

Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join our Group Health & Medical Services team. The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 7 years of job-related experience
  • Relevant College or University qualification to min bachelor’s level
  • Proven expertise and experience in managing end-to-end supply chain operations, including logistics, import/export, and vendor management
  • Working experience in multinational company, ideally within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical settings
  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Management, or related specialization
  • Certifications in CSCP, CPSM, CPIM and Lean Six Sigma
  • Familiarity and experience in healthcare regulatory standards, quality control, and risk management practices
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.
