We are currently recruiting for a Rotating Equipment Technician to join our team in Doha, Qatar. This role is required to provide hands on technical assistance in the repair and maintenance of various equipment in the workshop or at the customer sites. Job Responsibilities

• Overhaul and repair of Various type of pumps,gear boxes, compressors,turbines and associated other equipment.
• Comply with workshop procedures whilst ensuring all associated documentation is accurately completed e.g. stripping / build reports and work packs, following processes and actions.
• Competent in the use of all precision measuring and dynamic balancing equipment.
• Duty of care in all HSE and following Quality procedures.
• Implementing instructions as recommended from engineering / supervision.
• Work with Workshop Supervisor to ensure accurate and on time completion of equipment repair and completing strip down reports, assembly rebuild records, and test requirements to meet departmental daily/ weekly work schedule.
• Ensure all equipment in the fitting area is maintained to a high standard where appropriate liaising with supervisor.
• Assists in overhauls turbines, pumps, valves, diesel engines, compressors and other similar mechanical equipment. Includes dismantling, repairing, reassembling and testing such equipment.
• Assist in manufacturing parts for equipment under repair. Including marking, drilling and machining in the workshop as necessary.
• Responsible for the general housekeeping and cleaning of area of working.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Quality Control & Inspection
• Solid understanding of dimensional checks and proficiency in using precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, vernier callipers, dial indicators).
• Mechanical Assembly & Disassembly Expertise:
• Demonstrated ability to independently disassemble, inspect, and reassemble the following rotating equipment: – Booster pumps – Vertical and Fire Pumps – Boiler feedwater pumps – Chemical/multi-stage pumps – Centrifugal compressors – Reciprocating compressors – Gearboxes – Shaft Alignment Capabilities:
• Experienced in performing precise shaft alignment using: – Laser alignment tools
• Conventional dial gauge methods
• Specialized Rotating Equipment Tasks: – Rotor dynamic balancing – Removal, repair, and installation of mechanical seals – Installation of wear rings using expansion fit (hot method) – Disassembly of multi-stage rotors with interference fits using controlled heating – Installation of wear rings into castings using cold shrink fit (liquid nitrogen

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role within the rotating equipment maintenance or repair field.
• Proven experience working in oil and gas environments, with a strong understanding of industry-specific safety and operational standards.
• Basic knowledge of API standards related to rotating machinery (such as pumps, compressors, turbines), with the ability to interpret and apply these standards in workshop and field operations.

Education Requirements

• ITI in Mechanical Fitters + NCVT.
• Diploma is mechanical discipline preferred, although not essential.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday, including during equipment inspections and repair tasks.
• Physically capable of performing duties in a mechanical workshop environment, including lifting, handling tools and components, and operating workshop machinery safely and effectively.
