Purpose:

This role is responsible for providing customer insights and feedback as well as competitor intelligence within the Marketing function through reporting, competitor analysis, dashboard management & customer experience and feedback studies.

Functional Context:

Ooredoo’s Consumer business unit is a critical part of the company’s first line customer facing activities for all consumer product offerings and has a significant role to play in long term

business value creation through product design, achievement of sales revenue, profit and customer satisfaction, as defined in the annual business plans. The department contributes to the function through the provision of a range of analytical, research and intelligence services which will enable the marketing function to make meaningful decisions on its strategic and tactical plans. Provides Consumer and Business insights from a holistic perspective covering all OQ products and services in order to enable marketing plan and propositions to be developed Stay in touch with OQ broader development objectives (marketing efforts, products and services roadmap) and react to these in the best interest of Ooredoo

Role Accountabilities:

• Directs and manages research projects both on an ad hoc and customized basis and manages external resources as well as research agencies.

• Acts responsible for selecting and managing external agencies to create an excellent working relationship between them and Ooredoo.

• Performs first-hand customer research (focus groups, surveys) and sets up customer feedback loops.

• Gathers and interprets customer intelligence and provides actionable insights to guide customer segment strategies.

• Leads marketing intelligence activity providing important information about industry trends and competitor activities (products, pricing, promotions) through local, regional, and global benchmarking.

• Gathers and interprets market intelligence and provides actionable insights to guide customer segment strategies.

• Monitors, reviews and provides inputs into the BU’s strategy process, business plans & business cases, forecasts and associated implications.

• Develops creative solutions to research needs using qualitative and quantitative research techniques.

• Provides inputs for the development of business cases in coordination with Ooredoo Strategy & Technology BU department heads.

• Provides economic and feasibility studies for the BU of planned products and for long term CAPEX decisions such as network expansion, etc. and for input into the overall business planning and strategy development process.

• Continuously identifies and addresses business issues by providing integrated business insights and identifying and filling knowledge gaps.

• Provides input into customer segmentation models (including sub-segmentation) based on available data sources.

• Provides views on segment personas, needs and preferences, working with segment teams to develop segment-based strategies.

• Monitors the usage pattern of customers becoming inactive (grace and suspensions) on a monthly basis to understand the inactivity reasons.

• Monitors new customer activations for Ooredoo and competition to identify trends across channels, products, pricing, usage, and other customer behaviours.

• Conducts Marketing Promo effectiveness analysis on a regular basis and reports the results to marketing managers/product managers etc for their decision making.

• Conduct extensive mining of large databases on a regular basis that drive insight and highlight opportunities for incremental revenue, churn improvement, and increased customer satisfaction.

• Develops and automates strategic reports to top management and works closely with technology, develops new dimensions mapping and future enhancements.

• Leverages market intelligence studies to complement strategy formulation and overall strategic assessments.

• Tracks daily and monthly customer acquisition by the competition within Qatar and compare these rates with Ooredoo and monitor the resulting changes in market share.

• Works closely with Technology to enhance the quality of actual data either from source systems or DWH.

• Manages and maintains the actual Marketing reports portfolio.

Minimum Entry Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Finance or Engineering.

Minimum Experience, Essential Knowledge & Skills:

10 years’ experience in a similar role.

Proven experience in business analysis techniques with some exposure to structured project

management methods.

Experience in Planning & Budgeting and Forecasting

Prior experience having worked in or collaborated with market research agencies.

Experience in data mining and analysis leveraging tools and comfortable working with large amounts of data

International/ multinational experience a plus.

Experience of business unit strategy creation andbusiness planning
