
Chief Steward

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Swissotel Corniche Park Towers Doha. As the leader of our stewarding department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational efficiency in our kitchen and food service areas.
- Oversee daily stewarding operations and supervise the stewarding staff
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout all kitchen and back-of-house areas
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen equipment
- Coordinate with culinary and F&B departments to support kitchen and event operations
- Implement and monitor HACCP procedures and safety protocols
- Train, schedule, and mentor stewarding personnel to maintain high service standards
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and organization
- Manage waste disposal and recycling in compliance with local regulations
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house management to ensure cohesive service and guest satisfaction
- Maintain and troubleshoot dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment
- Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance work culture within the stewarding team
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in stewarding, preferably in a 5-star hotel or resort
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation, hygiene practices, and food safety regulations
- Proficiency in managing schedules, inventory, and cleaning protocols
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and dishwashing machinery
- Excellent communication skills and basic computer literacy
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in a hospitality setting
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
