Parsons is seeking an enthusiastic Civil Engineering Intern to support our project teams with a variety of design and technical tasks across engineering disciplines. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students in engineering programs to gain hands-on experience and practical exposure to real-world engineering projects under the close guidance of experienced professionals. Interns may have the opportunity to work within a structured rotation, including aspects of project controls, procurement, and construction management, depending on project needs and timing.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support engineering and design activities by applying principles and theories learned through academic coursework
- Assist with basic engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, material estimates, surveys, and layout design
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documents such as specifications, requisitions, and data sheets
- Help review technical drawings, supplier submittals, and documentation under the guidance of senior staff
- Contribute to construction submittals, technical requisitions, and contractor/supplier coordination
- Visit construction sites with senior staff to observe and assist with field inspections and construction progress tracking
- Help review contractor work for general compliance with plans and specifications
- Document construction activities including site observations, photo records, and daily reports
- Participate in coordination meetings with project and construction management teams
- Provide input to CAD designers and drafters on design packages
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across engineering functions
- Participate in internal meetings and training sessions to broaden technical knowledge
- Perform additional duties as assigned that support the overall engineering effort
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in Doha, Qatar.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles relevant to chosen discipline
- Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to support a variety of tasks and disciplines
- Willingness to work on active construction sites and learn from field exposure
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Completion of sophomore year or higher preferred
- Strong academic record and interest in engineering design or construction support
Additional Details:
- This is a paid internship position
- Internship duration: Summer 2025 (4-6 weeks / flexible based on academic schedule)
- Potential for field visits and limited travel to construction sites
- PPE and safety training will be provided for any site-based work
