
General Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical General Accountant to join our team in Doha, Qatar. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including daily transactions, journal entries, and ledgers
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment of invoices and collection of outstanding amounts
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local tax laws, and international financial regulations
- Review and analyze operational costs and financial data to identify areas for cost reduction
- Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with Qatar’s tax regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper allocation of revenue and expenses
- Utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions and reporting
- Provide financial insights and guidance to help departments achieve their financial goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred
- 2-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition standards, and IFRS
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
- Knowledge of Qatar’s tax regulations and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
