We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical General Accountant to join our team in Doha, Qatar. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including daily transactions, journal entries, and ledgers
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment of invoices and collection of outstanding amounts
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local tax laws, and international financial regulations
  • Review and analyze operational costs and financial data to identify areas for cost reduction
  • Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with Qatar’s tax regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper allocation of revenue and expenses
  • Utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions and reporting
  • Provide financial insights and guidance to help departments achieve their financial goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition standards, and IFRS
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
  • Knowledge of Qatar’s tax regulations and financial reporting requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
