Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil 3D Modeler to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for developing 2D design and 3D Models for Signs & Marking, Directional Signs, Traffic Signal and ITS/UGN using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D software. This role involves creating detailed 2D Designs and 3D Models of Traffic Designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Civil 3D Modeler performs basic to moderately difficult modeling/drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of modeling/drafting standards, practices and techniques. Under the general direction of a higher-level Designer, the incumbent at this level typically takes engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc., and formalizes them into working drawings and models.
The Civil 3D Modeler must be able to produce professional drawings and models for Signs & Marking, Directional Signs, Traffic Signal, ITS/UGN designs.
As needed, he may closely work with the design engineers in developing and finalizing design drawings and 3D Models of assigned projects. Perform dimensional and routine calculations required for drawing preparation. Check accuracy of layouts and drawings and make adjustments as necessary.
Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings and models consisting of layout plans, profiles, cross sections, structure details, assemblies, and Multiview blocks etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
Utilizes technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies. Become familiar with various standards and codes for developing drawings.
Developing accurate and detailed 3D models of Traffic Disciplines using Civil 3D software.
Updating 3D models as per design changes. Performing clash analysis. Generating clash reports. Quantity takes off.
Good knowledge and understanding of Highways, Signs and Marking and Directional Signs drawings.
Good knowledge and understanding of Traffic Signal and ITS/UGN drawings
Able to comply with CAD standards and ISO 19650 Workflow and Approval Process.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s or equivalent technical degree/diploma in engineering or related field, or equivalent technical certification from an accredited institution. A minimum of 7 years working experience in Traffic and Highways projects is required.
– Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D and Navisworks.
– Experienced user of ProjectWise/ACC Navigator and good knowledge in drawing/document management procedures.
– Ability to handle multiple projects and meet project deadlines.
– Able to work with minimum supervision as well as being a self-starter.
– Effectively communicate with project teams and internal stakeholders
