About The Role

You will manage all aspects of the trucking solutions purchased or used by Qatar Airways Cargo from the operational requirements to the monitoring of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). You will also regularly update the senior management on all trucking-related issues and highlights and develop the policy and strategy of Qatar Airways related to trucking services. Additionally, you will pursue strategic projects that will improve processes and manage operational costs of the department.

As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

• Manage the definition and improvement of IT related trucking processes, including aspects such as reservation, truck availability and better predictive costing of truck solutions.
• Define and develop all aspects of reporting related to truck related performance, both financial and operational as well as monthly reports and management update on ongoing actions.
• Define Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on trucking schedule communication structures to support operational requirements of the department. Conduct a feasibility study with detailed business case on the set-up of local GCC RFS network.
• Initiate and lead key projects such as centralizing all trucking related invoices with automated reconciliation of usage of service in headquarters in order to monitor and manage operational costs.
• Develop policies and Service Level Agreements (SLA) for implementation of trucking solutions across the QR network requirement areas.
• Monitor results and trends on Trucking performance and discrepancies across the network. Review and analyze trucking performance and cargo profitability to deliver best cost performance of overall trucking portfolio.
• Monitor performance on SLA for GSA, GHA or Independent trucking provider, and interface with regional network to support on trucking service delivery.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 8 years of job-related experience
• Knowledge of cargo trucking solutions and road feeder services and technology
• Knowledge of commercial and operational air cargo processes and ULD management
• Excellent spoken and written English skills with strong negotiation, presentation and influencing capabilities
• Leadership and strategic thinking capabilities, with a proven ability to lead cross functional and multi-cultural teams in a fast-paced environment.
