About the role:

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Aeropolitical and Corporate Affairs team as a Lead Aeropolitical & Corporate Sustainability Officer to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Lead Aeropolitical & Corporate Sustainability Officer, you will be responsible for preparing annual sustainability report for Qatar Airways Group; support the maintenance of Qatar Airways Group Environmental Management System, including Policy, Manual, Standards and Procedures.

Specific responsibilities for the role include:

  • Prepare Qatar Airways Group Sustainability Report, by collating required information from internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to projects in terms of the scope, define and benchmark Sustainability for Qatar Airways Group through researching, analysing and documenting relevant information to incorporate into the Qatar Airways Sustainability strategy.
  • Support the Manager Corporate and Environment Affairs in the collection, collation and verification of environmental monitoring data using relevant databases in all environmental sustainability reporting.
  • Support in maintaining Qatar Airways Group’s Environmental Management System (EMS) Manual, Standards and Procedures by following and improving to ensure EMS process are implemented effectively across the Group.
  • Plan, review and maintain EMS documentation by following various document control process to ensure EMS documentation are adequate and effectively maintained as per IEnvA requirements, including Legal and other requirements register, Communications Plan.
  • Support the rolling out of all Sustainability e-learning modules through the formulation and implementation of e-learning modules. Deliver training across Qatar Airways Group to colleagues on all related environmental sustainability issues.
  • Support with the implementation of sustainable activities such as recycling, energy efficiency, and water conservation, by analysing current policies, costs and benefits associated with implementing sustainable practices within Qatar Airways Group.
  • Conduct investigation on environmental non-conformances through determining the root cause and developing appropriate and effective corrective actions and/or preventive actions to prevent re occurrence.
  • Implement EMS for new scope area by following the Environmental Management Plan process to ensure all IENvA requirements are met for accreditation

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant College or University qualifications with minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience in management of environmental projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Detailed knowledge of Environmental Management System.
  • Working knowledge of Environmental risk assessment.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to interpret and integrate the integrity of technical data.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
