Job Purpose:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Audio Visual Supervisor to oversee and manage all audiovisual needs for events, meetings, and conferences within our hotel.
The Audio Visual Supervisor will be responsible for managing the audiovisual department and providing technical support for a variety of events hosted at the hotel. This position requires an individual with a strong background in AV systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for delivering seamless event experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- AV Setup and Operation: Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, and special events. This includes sound systems, projectors, lighting, video conferencing, and multimedia presentations.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with event organizers and clients to assess their AV needs and provide appropriate solutions. Ensure all AV requirements are met for events, ensuring the highest standard of service.
- Team Leadership: Supervise AV technician, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure smooth execution of all audiovisual setups.
- Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain AV equipment to ensure functionality and prevent downtime. Coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements.
- Troubleshooting: Be on-hand during events to troubleshoot and resolve any AV-related issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of all AV equipment and supplies. Ensure that all AV equipment is up-to-date and in working order.
- Collaboration: Work closely with event planners, coordinators, and hotel management to ensure the AV needs of events are properly aligned with other event services.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- At least 3 years of experience in audiovisual operations, preferably in the hospitality or event industry.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team.
- Strong technical knowledge of audiovisual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and video conferencing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a commitment to service excellence.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in AV equipment maintenance and setup.
- Certification in AV technology (e.g., CTS, AVIXA) is a plus but not required.
