Job Description: Measurement Engineering Specialist

Part A: Job Specification

Job Purpose To provide technical advice with respect to Company Production Accounting and Environmental installed base of measurement equipment, as well as provide engineering advice for any proposed future measurement equipment.

Reporting and Relationships

  • Reports to: Lead of Measurement Engineering Support.
  • Internal: Regular contact with other FDE Teams, the Assets, Maintenance, Environmental Department, and Allocation & Reconciliation.
  • External: Regular contact with Shareholders, Engineering Contractors, Equipment Vendors, and Service Providers.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s) Provide technical support to all Production Accounting and Environmental Measurement systems within the Ras Laffan Industrial City plant.

Financial Dimension As defined for this job level in the Delegation of Authority and/or approved budget.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Maintain system uncertainties for all Production Accounting and Environmental measurement systems.
  • Provide support to close Audit and Assessment findings for the department.
  • Identify opportunities for improving the measurement and integrity of our systems.
  • Provide technical advice and support as required on the design, construction, and modification of all Measurement Systems together with vendor and contractor support.
  • Lead investigations relating to problems, design, and recommend and implement modifications as required.
  • Ensure all Measurement systems and associated equipment are fit for purpose and meet QPMG and International Standards.
  • Participate in external Meter Calibrations, when required by the Company.
  • Participate and assist as required in the upgrading of current procedures to meet changing or additional requirements. Prepare/review Work and Calibration instructions for all Measurement systems.
  • Coordinate the activities of Equipment Vendors called out as required.
  • Review, if required, Measurement Project Specifications and attend equipment Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) if required during the FEED and EPC stages of Expansion Projects. Attend Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Commissioning during the site stages of the Project.
  • Review and comment on proposed updates to Engineering Standards and Guidelines.
  • Review and recommend spare parts, non-stock material, and tool requirements to allow proper maintenance of the Plant.

Part B: Person Specification – Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, or Science.

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 8 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment.
  • Full knowledge of all Measurement systems, including LNG, with specific experience on orifice, ultrasonic, coriolis, and turbine technology.
  • Very knowledgeable with the relevant standards, in particular ISO, MPMS, and AGA.

Technical and Business Skills

  • Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills).
  • Computer literate and knowledgeable in relevant software tools and specification
