Job Title: Project Manager – Core Banking Systems

Overview
The project involves transitioning the bank’s core banking system from IMAP to Synergise. The scope includes multiple critical functions:
- Compliane
- KYC/AML
- Risk Management
- Accounting
- Reporting and Consolidation
The role is highly independent, requiring the PM to manage with very limited resources while coordinating with vendors, the project sponsors (CRO and CFO), and internal IT.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Lead the core banking system implementation from initiation to completion.
- Vendor Management: Work closely with vendors, ensuring seamless implementation of Synergise.
- Functional Expertise: Bridge the gap between technical and business requirements, especially across accounting, compliance, risk, and reporting.
- Documentation: Create critical analysis documents, reports, and weekly updates for project sponsors (CRO and CFO).
- Stakeholder Updates: Provide consistent reporting to the Head of IT, Head of Ops, and project sponsors.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with the small project team (3-5 resources) and outsourced consultants (network/security, helpdesk).
- System Expertise: Leverage experience in core banking systems, particularly with Synergise or Temenos, to guide the transition.
Must-Have Skills:
- Extensive experience in banking systems and implementations, particularly as a Business Project Manager.
- Strong functional expertise across accounting, compliance, KYC/AML, and reporting.
- Proven track record of managing end-to-end core banking system implementations.
- Hands-on experience with core systems such as Temenos (preferred) or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently with very limited resources while delivering critical results.
- Business understanding and functional analysis skills, with experience writing critical analysis documents.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Core Banking Experience: Previous projects involving full core banking implementations.
- Functional Expertise: Deep understanding of banking processes across accounting, risk, and compliance.
- Ability to manage and synergize between technical teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Experience: Minimum of 8+ years managing core banking projects with functional and business focus.
- Systems: Experience with Temenos or other banking systems; familiarity with IMAP and transition to new platforms like Synergise is advantageous.
- Industry: Strong background in banking (Investment, Traditional, or Islamic banking experience preferred).
- Location: International or local candidates willing to be onsite in Doha.
- Language: Arabic speaking is a plus but not mandatory.
