Job Overview:

The Operations Executive is responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the grocery picker department. This role oversees a team of shoppers, ensures order fulfilment from picking to dispatch, and implements strategies to continuously improve departmental performance.

(Some of) What you will be doing:

  • Daily Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of the grocery picker department, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfilment. Monitor order volume, staffing levels, and inventory availability to proactively address any bottlenecks. Develop and implement contingency plans to handle unexpected situations (e.g., high order volume, staff shortages).
  • Team Leadership & Scheduling: Provide direct leadership and coaching to a team of grocery shoppers. Create work schedules that optimize efficiency by considering factors like order volume, team member skills, and availability. Delegate tasks and assignments effectively to ensure all picking and packing needs are met. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members for development.
  • Inventory & Order Fulfilment: Collaborate with the Inventory Specialist to maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize out-of-stock situations. Work with merchants and delivery partners to ensure timely product updates and order pick availability. Monitor order fulfilment process from picking to dispatch, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Performance Analysis & Improvement: Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order picking speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Identify areas for departmental improvement and develop data-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement process changes and best practices to continuously improve departmental performance.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare regular reports on departmental performance metrics for the Operations Manager. Reports include :Weekly Performance of brands on a Branch level along with the pickers performance.
  • Maintain clear communication channels with team members, merchants, delivery partners, and the Operations Manager. Escalate any critical issues or concerns to the Operations Manager for further action.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced warehouse or retail environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and scheduling abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software (a plus).
  • Experience with inventory management principles is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Experience in the grocery industry.
  • Understanding of food safety and handling procedures.
