About The Role
As a part of our team, you will serve as a working Service Engineer for Power Transformers, responsible for the assignment of tasks, work environment, safety, and the overall performance of crew and contractors on field projects.
As the Service Engineer for Power Transformer Engineer, you will be the primary expert in the maintenance, service, and repair of transformers. The Transformer Engineer and the work crew may be assigned other tasks individually or as part of a larger electrical live substation environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for the successful execution of maintenance works and for supervising both technically and administratively your crew members and assigned contractor(s). You will be expected to take decisive and corrective actions to ensure the well-being of the crew, the safety of the environment, the success of the project, the integrity of the equipment, and the satisfaction of the customer and the organization.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide technical instructions on safe and correct assembly and maintenance of power and distribution transformers, following project scope of work, drawings, and method statements.
- Direct and train crew in the operation of transformer oil processing equipment, ensuring proper documentation.
- Perform complex field service operations that require strong technical skills.
- Troubleshoot and repair of power and distribution electrical equipment, applying own knowledge and experience to resolve problems, recommend changes, or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
- Possess strong knowledge in On load Tap changers and off load Tap Changers Maintenance and troubleshooting etc.
- Have extensive knowledge in power transformer testing and analysis to identify root causes.
- Communicate clearly and professionally (written and/or verbal) regarding project scope, safety reviews, security or environmental incidents, safety violations, or near misses.
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced technicians, instructing them in the proper and safe operation of equipment and tasks.
- Be prepared to respond to emergency situations and perform urgent repairs to minimize downtime and restore service.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 10+ years in transformer Installation, maintenance, and repair of power and distribution transformers and accessories.
- Proficiency in industrial electrical wiring and troubleshooting, with the ability to analyze & trouble shoot the faults.
- Specialized skill set in Distribution, Power, or Transmission electrical substation equipment in voltage ranges of Low Voltage (4160V – 13kV), Medium Voltage (13kV – 69kV), and High Voltage (69kV – 800 kV) up to 800 MVA.
- Any technical Certifications specially for TR OLTC are added advantage.
- Preference for Qatar Driving License holder
