As Standards & Compliance Specialist – Policies, You will be responsible to review, implement and maintain the policies and procedures for Corporate Services. Conduct reviews to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Group or Divisional policies, Standard Operating Procedures and report to Management.
Accountabilities
- Review, develop and implement robust divisional policies and SOP procedures to provide clear and effective guidance to staff and other stakeholders in line with best industry practices and applicable Laws and Regulations. Update and revise the policies and procedures to address newly identified risk and implement sound controls as per departmental risk and control matrix.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and senior management across the group for consultation and feedback on draft policies, and procedures on a regular basis to ensure timely finalization and publication of the procedures. Ensure stakeholders understand the requirements of applicable group policies, procedures, Laws, regulations and provide/coordinate trainings where necessary.
- Prepare and update compliance and review checklists – conduct compliance review, inspections and spot checks in accordance all applicable policies, procedures, Laws and regulations across Corporate Services, provide recommendations and report to the management. Ensure that the recommendations have been implemented within the stipulated time frames.
- Conduct in depth investigations to determine whether applicable regulations or Laws have been violated and document the findings and recommendations in appropriate reporting platforms. Conduct third party supplier and contractor inspections to ensure adherence to contract T&Cs, regulatory requirements, HS&E best practices.
- Monitor implementation of corrective actions and recommendations provided as a result of compliance review, investigations and report any deviations to the management in order to improve processes and overall compliance.
Qualifications
Essential
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level with minimum 4 years relevant experience.
- Prior experience in robust policies and procedures.
- Compliance reviews and investigations.
Job Specific Skills
- Good Knowledge of MS Office, Document Management System.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Strong reading comprehension and proof-reading skills, strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work/contribute in a team-based environment
- Team and customer oriented
- Problem solving skills and ability to facilitate process improvements
- Auditing or compliance experience is a plus
- Experience in ISO standard implementation and re-certification is preferred
