Scope

• Provide advice, opinion, services and handling internal and external queries, and leads Counsels in providing legal opinion required in running the business, in accordance with QatarEnergy’s policies, procedures, applicable laws and regulations, to the best interest of QatarEnergy
• Draft and comment on proposed legislation, and monitor the newly issued laws, to ensure the compliance of QatarEnergy and its subsidiaries with the State of Qatar laws and regulations

Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience
• Eligible to practice law in Qatar or any similar jurisdiction
• Arabic speaker with excellent command of spoken and written English
• Excellent legal drafting, writing, researching, and analyzing skills
• Must be familiar with the Qatari laws or any similar jurisdiction
• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry will be highly advantageous
• Experience of dealing with regulators and government representatives
• Ability to assimilate complex legal matters and to provide practical advice to non-lawyers.

Education

• Juris Doctorate, Bachelors of Law or equivalent from recognized University, preferably post graduation studies or Master’s degree of Law
