Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will contribute towards timely and efficient production of quality designs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prepare conventional analytical models without supervision and advancing to more complex models with supervision
- Produce clear and well-organized design calculations
- Apply engineering principles to design conditions less well defined by code with supervision
- Apply more advanced engineering principles to analysis with reduced supervision
- Contribute as a productive and efficient team member to meet project deadlines
- Check design deliverables from equal or less experienced Engineers
- Tracks hours per task/sheet in design deliverables
- May supervise subordinates and provide input regarding performance
- Provides technical guidance to Designer
- Interfaces with clients on matters relating to work assignments
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering from a reputable university
- Minimum 5 years experience in infrastructure and wet utilities design
- Proficient in utilizing standard engineering principles, techniques, and analyses to complete conventional, moderately-complex assignments within a single engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in utilizing basic engineering software packages associated with civil engineering.
- Familiar with moderately advanced engineering software and understands how engineering principles are applied in the software with little supervision
- Understands setup and requirements for standard design plans
- Proficient with standard detailing practices.
- Able to select applicable standard specifications
- Draft design reports with oversight
- Understands QA/QC standard practices and procedures
- Develops and tracks progress of personal schedule for task assignments
- Understands duration for each assigned task and communicates any concerns clearly to task manager
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to  effectively communicate with client, management, and project personnel on technical and non-technical subjects.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
- Understanding of duration and level of effort for each task
- Competency in non-standard detailing
- Basic detailing sketches for design plans with limited supervision and more complex sketches with supervision
- Professional Engineer registration may be required(PE, PEng or CEng)
