Parsons is looking to hire an experienced Systems Assurance Expert to work on a major local rail project encompassing freight, conventional and high-speed systems.
In this role you will follow up, monitor and support Safety Assurance activities of Contractors and to integrate third party activities into Safety Cases, in order to get no objection of the Independent Safety Assessor to bring the railway into service. You will also be accountable to implement technical assurance strategies and procedures for delivering particular technical assurance aspects as required by the project.
Willingness to travel and relocate to client, or construction site locations is required. Our staff are expected to be versatile and enthusiastic and able to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attending HAZID/HAZOP workshops to assess hazards, causes and levels of risk.
- Critically reviewing safety deliverables such as Hazard Reports, SIL Reports, Safety Cases and Safety Plans, etc.
- Creating and amending Safety Cases following common standards such as EN50126, EN50128, EN50129 and EN61508.
- Endorsing hazards, causes and levels of risk in Hazard Review Panels.
- Following up Control Measure Transfers between different Parties.
- Reviewing Test procedures and attending Tests to ensure validation of requirements.
- Liaising with the Independent Safety Assessor to resolve key certification risks.
- Following up and providing Validation of Control Measures and Safety Requirements for Hazards / Control Measures exported to third parties.
- Will be required to interface with Independent Safety Assessor, MOT, Qatar Rail Contractors and other Third Party Stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree is required
- Proven experience in similar Safety discipline with a minimum of 15 years’ experience.
- A good working background of Rail Industry from developed Countries with a minimum of 10 years.
- Good knowledge of Common Safety Methods and EN50126, EN50128, EN50129 and EN61508 is essential.
- Knowledge of software (safety critical systems related) would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience in performing detailed hazard analyses (e.g., Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Subsystem Hazard Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis.
- Training certificates to support the above-mentioned required experience
- Good software skills in DOORs, CompyPro or similar.
