Your Tasks
- Operations & Handling:
- Manages all operational activities of Materials Warehouse on-site/off-site locations.
- Motivating, organizing and encouraging team work to ensure productivity targets are met.
- Ensures deadlines and targets are met on daily basis and during shutdown occasions to avoid disruption to COMPANY Plant operations.
- Monitors preservation activities and ensure all materials preservation is carried out as per standard operating procedure.
- Ensures periodical maintenance, inspection and certification is carried out on lifting equipment’s.
- Remains abreast of latest developments in materials handling equipment, as well as warehousing and stocking matters and plans future capacity requirement.
- Monitors temporary receiving storage of Expense Custody Materials in order to avoid accumulation and reports to Supervisor.
- Monitors written off materials and ensures appropriate disposal action is implemented as policy & procedures.
- Recommends eligible senior staff for appropriate courses / training and monitors the progress of Qatari Development Program.
- Prepares yearly staff appraisals in PMS.
- Ensures all staffs are familiar with Materials Division procedures / objectives and they are implemented.
- Represents Division in weekly Plant Operations meeting.
- Conducts checks on sections activities and ensures all warehouse storage areas in premises are secured.
- Monitors staff time keeping and overtime, ensures proper discipline and office protocol is maintained.
- Prepares sections yearly budget requirements and ensures the budget is utilized on time.
- Reports any deviation, shortages/overages and damages to Materials Manager for timely & immediate action.
- Perform managerial functions (as delegate) if required such as preparing proposals and budgets, analysing KPI data’s related to Materials Division operations, off-site storage, labour costs, and writing reports.
- Data Systems Integrity:
- Works with SAP materials module business system and approves workflow within the financial authority manual.
- Direction of Subordinates:
- Responsible for supervising all warehouse-related jobs and daily routine activities ensuring safe practices are followed in accordance with divisional policies and procedures.
- Reports:
- Review and submits Monthly Operational/ KPI reports & other various reports to Materials Manager related to warehouse activities including Off-site storage reports and performance for management information.
- Stock Management:
- Coordinate with divisional managers, heads, engineers & supervisors for reviews of inventories as required in order to ascertain the consistency of stock records with actual stock. Investigates discrepancies and recommends write-off(s).
- Inventory Problems:
- Highlight areas of concern associated with inventory problems that could affect maintenance, operations, pre-commissioning / commissioning and start-up. Adopt a pro-active rather than a reactive approach. Takes follow-up action to minimize adverse consequences.
- Safety, Quality & Environment:
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls across the materials section to guarantee plant operations, employee safety and delivery of high quality products or services in a responsible environmental attitude.
- Attends to all internal & external audits related to ISO, Business Continuity and other audits for materials management & inventory control.
- Ensure compliance to all PSM requirements.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor the financial performance of a given area of materials activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Your Profile
- University Degree in Industrial Management Logistics or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Preferably Mechanical of Chemical) or equivalent.
- Attendance on relevant functionally-related post graduate programs covering such areas as procurement strategy, warehousing best-practice, shipping/export practice, materials management, and inventory control.
- 10 – 12 years’ experience in Materials environment in warehousing for Oil & Gas Industry with 5 years in supervisory experience.
- Experience of operating in a heavy computerized materials management environment with specific experience of SAP Materials Management.
- Expert knowledge of inventory management best practices and methods.
- Expert knowledge of materials handling and storage requirements for hazardous goods (COSSH).
- Excellent knowledge of international shipping requirements and protocols.
- Excellent knowledge in contract management.
- Excellent level of English language skills & written communication
