Your Tasks

  • Ensure safe, reliable and optimum operation of the plant equipment and facilities by applying the state‐of‐the‐art inspection and quality management techniques.
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the inspection engineers and to develop and update inspection schedules to ensure equipment integrity and maximize plant availability.
  • Guide and direct the Inspection Engineers to arrive at effective repair/replacement recommendations aimed at maximizing the safety, operability and reliability of the plant equipment and facilities.
  • Formulate and implement integrity and reliability strategies, policies and practices. Enhance the quality of inspection engineering by improving the inspection practices and procedures. Set objectives and meet them within the target.
  • Plan and coordinate with Maintenance and Production personnel in the day‐to‐day activities.
  • Manage Risk Based Inspection assessments and reassessments, ensuring ever greening of information.
  • Investigate, analyse and determine root‐cause of any failure or inherent defect in equipment/piping so as to establish corrective actions to prevent failure re‐occurrence.
  • Manage inspection contracts. Arrange the outsourcing of inspection services for Turnarounds and monitor the activities of the contracted team. Coordinate with NDT contractors on job scope needed to support inspection work requirements.
  • Prepare budget for Opex, Capex and major turnarounds. Monitor and ensure the spend is within the budget estimate
  • Fitness for Service (FFS) assessment and remnant life assessment of equipment and piping to maximize and rationalize the use of the equipment. Propose replacement plans as required.
  • Review all new and modification development work to advise on construction standards, material selection and inspection/testing requirements in line with company and international standards.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering or equivalent.
  • API certifications in 510,570 as a minimum with API 653 and AWS/CSWIP or equivalent Qualification and Level II certification of basic NDT techniques (UT, RT, MT and PT) will be an added advantage.
  • At least 15 years of experience in the in‐service and shutdown / turnaround inspection of plant fixed equipment / piping, in an operating Plant as direct hire company employee with minimum 5 years in a supervisory position. Experience in an operating Methanol, MTBE, Ammonia Plants preferred.
  • Should have operating plant inspection experience in inspection of static equipment like Reformers, Reformer Tubes, Reactors, Pressure Vessels, Piping, Boilers, Furnaces, Columns, Heat Exchangers, and Storage Tanks etc.
  • Competence in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and Damage Mechanisms is essential. Experience in
  • RBI methodology and developing Risk Based Equipment Strategies
  • Knowledge of ASME Section I / II / V / VIII / IX, TEMA, API, and ASTM codes and standards as a minimum.
  • Good knowledge in international codes and standards related to in‐service inspection of pressure vessels, piping and other fixed equipment and application of NDT techniques.
  • Have current knowledge of best practices in integrity assessment, Root Cause Analysis methods, Fitness‐for‐Service, PSM, MIQA, HAZOP etc.
  • Experienced in carrying out Root Cause Failure Analysis.
  • Experienced in inspection and NDT jobs contracting for online inspection works and for major turnaround inspection work.
  • Working knowledge in SAP. Good analytical / creative skills.
  • Shall have good communication skills in English and shall be able to independently produce good Reports of high quality in English language.
