Primary Purpose of the Job
- Provide technical and commercial support to the Ship Contracts & Bunkering division to develop, negotiate, execute, analyse, evaluate all LNG shipping and other marine related contracts to ensure QatarEnergy interest and obligation under those contracts are protected and performed as per contract
- Produce Letters of Indemnity (LOI) in line with the QatarEnergy LOI Procedure for all QatarEnergy vessels, secure their approval and issuance. When required or assigned, serve as the primary point of contact for all LOI matters on a 24/7 basis
- Produce and distribute critical financial reports, including the Fleet Pooling reconciliation in accordance with the Fleet Pooling Agreement and associated procedure.
- Participate in key operator/vessel performance reviews to ensure adequate contractor performance and services are provided to QatarEnergy Shipping Department
- Examine draft Time Charter Party (TCP) Agreements, Sales & Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Master SPAs (MSPAs), Confirmation Notices (CNs) and other Marine Contracts to ensure that all Shipping related information has been properly reviewed in line with existing procedures as well as any prevailing QatarEnergy operational and business requirements
- Evaluate Ship deviation reports to review Off Hire and cost reimbursement cases, prepare report and communicate with the ship owners for effective and timely closure
Experience
- 8 years’ experience in shipping related filed with some understanding of shipping contracts, terminology and fundamentals of voyage analysis
- Experience in vessel contract performance reviews and claims settlement
Technical and Business Skills
- Prior use and knowledge of standard industry sources of information such as IMO, OCIMF, SIGTTO, AtoBviaC etc.
- Strong in spoken and written English.
- Strong analytical skills including economic analysis; and verbal-reasoning skills.
- Self-motivating and ability to work well under time pressures with little supervision.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in marine discipline, Business, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Engineering or Marine Certificate (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer)
